“The Tatara T slots of the bottom plate guide the blade, and to receive the cap and engage with the handle, a hole is configured in the middle of the plate. Due to the geometry between the bottom plate and top cap, the blade bends and achieves a stiff and very precise blade angle. The most popular and smoothest option is the closed comb plate. To give the skin less blade exposure, it is designed with a plate that has small grooves along the edges. Blade gap is: 0.90 mm which is wider and more efficient than the standard Masamune.”

Now the really interesting part is that all Masamune parts are fully interchangeable with the Masamune Nodachi variant, giving multiple possibilities of mildness or efficiency depending on the combination of baseplate and top cap (and even preferred handle).
